EDUCATION
Aroostook County is fortunate to have a variety of higher education institutions that serve its residents as well as many non-Aroostook County residents.
University of Maine at Presque Isle (UMPI)
The University of Maine at Presque Isle has a 150 acre campus with approximately 1400 undergraduate students. UMPI offers associate and baccalaureate degrees in areas such areas as arts, biology, education and liberal arts.
University of Maine at Fort Kent (UMFK)
The University of Maine at Fort Kent has a 52 acre campus with approximately 750 students. serves as the source for post-secondary education for residents of the St. John Valley and beyond. UMFK also offers a wide range of associate and baccalaureate degrees in such areas as education, nursing, business, forest technology, French, and environmental studies.
Northern Maine Technical College (NMTC)
NMTC is located in Presque Isle and serves as the northern arm of Maine's technical college system. NMTC offers 25 associate degree, diploma and certificate programs.
Husson College
While Husson College's primary campus is located in Bangor, Maine with a satellite campus located in Caribou. This setting offers a personalized, small college environment. Associate degree programs, Baccalaureate degree programs, Accounting and Business Administration degrees, and a Master of Science in Business program are offered here.
